Balos Beach

Balos Beach is truly a gem and one of the best beaches on Crete island. Turquoise water, white sand and the picturesque island of Tigani make perfect scenery. Balos belongs among the most beautiful places of the whole Mediterranean. The beach itself makes a connecting between the Tigani island and the mainland. Balos Beach and Lagoon are located only 18 km from Chania villas and is 10 minute drive.

Eroded Hills of Komolithi

The bizarre-looking small hills are found in the Komolithi area on the island near Potamída. They’re completely barren except for tufts of vegetation on their tops. Composed almost entirely of clay, years of erosion by wind and water has sculpted their distinctive conical shapes. Pink Sand Beach

The Amazing Pink “Elafonisi Beach” Of Crete has been voted several times as one of the most majestic beaches not only in Europe but also in the world. The area features exotic beauty, dunes, cedar trees, white lilies, black rocks, rare species of animals and birds that live there, blue waters and bright white sand.

Acropolis of Polirrinia

Polyrinia was one of the most important city-states of western Crete during the Hellenistic and Roman periods. It was built amphitheater on a steep hill, rising to a height of 481 meters above sea level. From its top there is an impressive view of the Cretan and Libyan Sea and the picturesque surroundings. The city was probably founded by the Achaeans in 1100 BC, and its full flowering occurred in the Roman period. It is worth noting that although the history of this place began in the Minoan period, it continues to this day. You won’t find a magnificent city here, but only a calm and somewhat sleepy village, in which the remains of the former splendor of this place are woven.

Polyrinia was the most fortified city of ancient Crete that dominated the western part of the island. It developed close trade relations with Sparta, Milos, Rhodes, Thebes, the coast of ancient Ionia and Egypt. Ships with cargo docked at both Kissamos and the ancient Falassarna, as both of these places served as ports in Polyrinia. In addition to trade, the city was also known for breeding, some of its inhabitants engaged in shepherding. The name of the city indicates just such a direction of development, polla rinia means many lambs / sheep.

Falassarna Beach

Falassarna beach has been voted the most beautiful beach of Crete and is rated as one of the top 10 beaches in all of Europe. It has crystal clear waters and wonderful white and pink sand. When the wind picks up and sea waves begin to come in one after the other, this is the best time for windsurfing lovers to arrive.

Indeed an absolute adrenalin rush, not only for those who take part in the sport but also for those who delight in watching windsurfers “play” with the waves created by nature. Beach is located only 18 km from Chania Villas.
